Parent Information for Materials Pick-Up Plan 2020-2021

Dear Cowlishaw Families,

I hope that this letter finds you well and eagerly anticipating the new school year. In this communication you will find important information about classroom placements and remote learning materials pick up.

Class Assignments
We are anticipating that class assignments will be made available on Friday, August 28th at 4 PM in ParentVUE. Please see below on how you can access your child’s teacher.

Click on the category on the left called Class Schedule where you will be able to view your teacher assignment.

Remote Learning Materials Pick Up
On Tuesday, September 1st and Wednesday, September 2nd, Cowlishaw Elementary School will be distributing your child(ren)’s class materials, Chromebook, calendars and school supplies. Student material pick up will be in the driveway in front of Cowlishaw. Please read the message carefully and follow the directions listed below.
The schedule for pick up is as follows by the first letter of the student’s last name:
Tuesday, September 1st
Wednesday September 2nd
A 9:00am-10:00am
B-D 10:00am-11:30am
E-I 11:30am-12:30pm
J-L 1:00pm-2pm
M-O 2:00pm-3:00pm
P-R 9:00am-10:30am
S 10:30am-12:00pm
T-W 12:30pm-2:00pm
X-Z 2:00pm-3:00pm

Parents will need to drive to the school in order to maintain social distancing. If you can’t make it during the designated time, please try to send someone to pick up the materials on your behalf. If your only means of collecting items is to walk, we will have a walk-up station station available.

In the interest of safety for you and for our staff, we ask that you follow these procedures when you arrive for your scheduled pick up time:

Procedures


Create a sign (8 ½ x 11 paper size) with your child(ren)’s first and last name in BOLD/BIG print.

Place the sign on the dashboard, visible to staff.

Enter the carline while traveling east on Sanctuary Lane. ALL cars must enter Sanctuary Lane from Fort Hill Drive.

Drivers should turn on their hazard flashers while they are in line on school property.

Once your car reaches the Drop Off Zone, please open the trunk and/or side door.

PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE AND FOLLOW STAFF DIRECTIONS AT ALL TIMES.

If you have items to return to the school, please have them in the trunk. A staff member will collect the items in your trunk that you are returning. Make sure your child’s name is on the bag for the items you are returning.

If you have a damaged/broken Chromebook you can exchange it at this time.

You will then proceed to the Pick Up Zone where a staff member will place a bag with your child's materials in your trunk.

Be prepared to pick up textbooks and/or Chromebooks. Staff will have the items in a plastic bag with your child’s name on the bag and put the bag in your car’s trunk.
