OPEN BOARD POSITIONS FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
The PTA would like to announce the PTA Executive Board slate for the 2020-2021 school year. Board members will be voted on this month. There are still a few open positions. Board positions must be filled in order for the PTA to operate. Cowlishaw Elementary will not have a PTA next year if these positions are not filled.

HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL PTSA
Attention all 5th grade parents, Hill Middle School PTSA is looking for volunteers for the PTSA executive board as well as volunteers for several of Hill's many activities! Please take a look at our Hill Middle School PTSA Facebook page for the many ways you can assist!!!! We look forward to meeting all our incoming 6th Graders and families entering Hill for the '20-'21 school year!!!
FIFTH GRADE FAREWELL
Although school has gone remote for the rest of the year, we are still trying to recognize the current 5th graders social distance style! We are working through the details and will distribute information to the 5th grade parents shortly. To make the farewell special we have a few asks of the parents and students. First, we are planning to do a slide show with memories of the kids’ years at Cowlishaw. If you could please submit photos to the following email address firstname.lastname@example.org. In the email if you could include the following information 1) child’s nameâ€” 2) child’s teacherâ€” 3) one photo from early elementaryâ€” 4) one current photoâ€” and 5) one or two group photos with friends. Please submit all photos by Friday, May 15 to be included in the presentation. If you aren’t able to submit electronically, please reach out to me and I’ll figure out how to get the photos safely. Also, since the kids didn’t get to say a final good-bye to the teachers, we are collecting either written or electronic notes to the teachers. These notes can be sent to the same email address as above. If you would like to drop off hand written notes, please contact Michelle McCorkle at email@example.com and we will send a safe collection option. Thanks for helping us make this special for the kids! PLUNGE INTO FITNESS
This program has ended. Your classroom teacher should have emailed every family in regards to who participated in this program. If you participated in the Plunge Into Fitness incentive program, please email your teacher by Tuesday, April 28. IPPC “THANK A STAFF MEMBER” GIFT CARD PROGRAM
The Indian Prairie Parents’ Council is offering parents the opportunity to say thank you to staff members with a special program that also supports the district’s low-income students. From now through May 8th, parents can purchase a gift card to a local business as a way of celebrating a staff member and saying thank you for their efforts this year. Each $25 purchase includes a $20 gift card of your choice, and a $5 donation to IPPC’s annual school supply drive that provides school supplies to students in need. Parents can include a special note of thanks with each purchase. Gift cards will be delivered to staff members as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our 2020-2021 school supply kits are now available! Spend less time in the store by having these prepackaged supply kits conveniently delivered to your doorstep! Have multiple students at Cowlishaw? Kits ship for one flat fee regardless of how many kits you buy! Have another student at Hill Middle School? Submit one order for all the kits you need from both schools! It’s that easy! National PTA has announced the 2020-21 Reflections theme "I Matter Because..."
